Aga Cooker Refurbishment in Glasgow

Steve recently visited Johnstone, near Glasgow, to carry out a Top and Lid Replacement.

This customer wanted a new look for their Aga Range Cooker, without the cost of a total refurbishment. Their Post-1974 Aga Range Cooker had been a workhorse for quite a while and was showing some battle scars - particularly on the black enamel top plate and lids.

We sent some of our top plates and lids to our enamel factory to be enamelled in Black. They came back to our workshop and we prepared them, by building the new chrome lids, attaching the new towel rail to the top plate and packing the new fixings. Over time, we've learned that this is best, non-invasive, way of refurbishing Aga Range Cookers. You can still use your cooker up until the day before we arrive, saving you the disruption of weeks without your kitchen companion!

Steve arrived early in the morning and got straight to work. The old top plate was removed, along with the old rockwool insulation underneath.

The loose-fill vermiculite inside the Aga Range Cooker needed to be topped up (as expected in older models of Aga Range Cookers), then our new, high-performance ceramic blanket was placed on top to help efficiency.

The new shiny chrome lids were attached to the black enamel top plate and seated on top of the ceramic blanket. It was all secured into place and polished to reveal the showroom finish!

We think you'll agree that the new top and lids mades a HUGE difference to the look of the Aga Range Cooker! This is the easiest and quickest way to refresh your range. You can take a look at our Refurbishment Options for your own Aga Range Cooker and Book Your Own top and lids refurb.

Hello! Its the end of January as I write this, so I'm a tad late in our 'end of year' reporting, but December is our crazy month so things ran away from me. I've just finished our company reports for 2024 and I thought they'd be quite interesting for you to see (if you find charts and spreadsheets interesting like me).
