Ideal for those off-grid, or looking for the cosy warmth of a fire, with the practicalities of a full-size range cooker.

Get Started

What's the ESSE 1000W?

We're often asked about Wood Burning Aga Cookers. Although Aga Cookers have been solid fuel in the past (anthracite only), they have long since been discontinued and parts are now extremely difficult to source and maintain.

The ESSE 1000W is THE wood-burning range cooker. With their stove-like aesthetics and range cooker functionality, you can 'bring the fire' back into your kitchen.

The large bone-shaped cast iron plate, can fit up to 6 pans at one time.

Over the past 170 years of being 'master stove makers', the ESSE 1000W is their cleanest wood-burning cooker that they have ever made.

ESSE 1000W Dimensions

Pre-Installation Requirements: No utilities should be located behind the cooker. Some minimum clearance gaps are required for airflow and maintenance - 10mm gap behind and 7mm each side.

If your ESSE 1000W is to be placed next to:

Combustible surfaces - clearances have to be increased to 20mm each side (below worktop level), 100mm at worktop level, 200mm above worktop level and 1000mm in front.

Non-Combustible surfaces - clearances are 7mm each side.

The cooker should sit on a non-combustible, completely level surface - capable of supporting the 315kg weight.

Width: 985mm

Depth: 670mm

Height: 900mm.

Total height for lid clearance: 1375mm

If you need to raise the ESSE 1000W higher than 900mm, you can use packers underneath, or build up a non-combustible, formed plinth.

Esse 1000W Flue Requirements

The ESSE 1000w has a 6" flue diameter.

There are quite a few flue regulations and requirements for solid fuel burning appliances, and your HETAS registered engineer will be able to advise. We have installation guides you can share with them, with diagrams, clearances, requirements and information.

The flue pipe used to connect the appliance to the chimney is 6’’ (150mm) in diameter.

ESSE 1000W Fuel Consumption

The ESSE 1000W has been designed to be the cleanest burning wood stove they've ever made.

With catalytic technology, the emissions are reduced to just 0.04 CO and as little as 20 mg/m₀³ of combustion dust.

The temperatures in the ovens are dependent on flue, moisture content and quality of wood burnt.

The below temperatures are based on refuelling good quality seasoned wood at approximately 1.4per kg hour.

The ESSE 1000w Temperatures

Main Oven: 200c

Bottom Oven: 140c

Firebox Oven: 250c

LH Hotplate: 320c
