ElectricKit Aga Cooker Conversions

CONTROLLABLE. LOW RUNNING COSTS. ECO-FRIENDLY

Designed and Manufactured in the UK by industry professionals, this revolutionary piece of kit enables your current Aga Range Cooker to be converted to controllable electric.

The heating elements are placed around your ovens and a further 2 elements are integrated into the boiling plate and simmering plate.

The ElectricKit Conversion is controlled via the control panel, allowing you to manually choose a temperature for your ovens and hotplates. The heat from the oven elements dissipate down into the cast iron ovens, allowing full saturation and the radiant heat cooking agas are known for.

On our 3 oven ElectricKit models, the Roasting/Simmering ovens are controlled via a dial, ranging from 1-8. An additional dial controls the 'baking' (bottom left) oven, again ranging from 1-8.

The two hot plates can now become either boiling or simmering. Each are controlled by settings ranging from 1-8. We recommend turning the hotplates off when not cooking. The ovens can be set and left on 24/7 to provide additional room warmth and cooking convenience.

From cold, the hot plates will reach full power in 15 minutes and the ovens will reach 180c in 48 minutes.

WHY CHOOSE THE ELECTRICKIT SYSTEM?

The ElectricKit bridges the gap between the popular heat-storage Aga Range Cooker and a standard oven. We believe in honest selling and transparency. As well as listing the advantages, we'll also list the disadvantages as it may not be the model for you.

Advantages of the ElectricKit:

  • More controllability over traditional models
  • Hugely reduced running costs
  • Keep your Aga Range Cooker on, even in Summer
  • More eco-friendly than traditional models.
  • No Servicing costs
  • British-made and widely used and trusted.
  • No Flue Required (can be located anywhere)
  • No reduced oven temperatures when using the hot plates.
  • Induction hotplate upgrades available.
  • Integrated into the WiFi for remote control.
  • Automatic scheduling of ovens.
  • Automatic 'rest' periods, similar to the Everhot cookers.

Disadvantages of the Electrickit:

  • Waiting for the hotplates/ovens to reach temperature.
  • High initial outlay of cost to install/purchase.
  • Reduced ambient heat to the room.
  • Slight change in style of cooking to adapt to the placement of the heating elements.
  • Hotplates cannot be left on high when lids are closed.
  • Reliant on Electricity (power outages will render it defunct)

OUR ROOM-VENTING ELECTRICKIT

ELECTRICKIT FLUE OPTIONS:

Room Venting

Our ElectricKit cookers are normally sold as room-venting so they can be located anywhere in the kitchen, as long as the floor can support it. Advantages to this also include warm air entering the room and it'll be impossible to leave dishes in the oven for days without noticing!

External Vent

We also offer the ElectricKit as externally vented if the cooker is located on an external wall. The Aga Range Cooker is vented using a single 28mm copper pipe, with a T-piece connected on the outside.

ELECTRICKIT RUNNING COSTS:

Each ElectricKit Aga Range Cooker and family will have different running costs depending on how they use the cooker.

The developers of the ElectricKit carried out a year of testing for a family of 2 working adults (away during the day) and published usage of 2064KW for the year. The cost of that would change depending on your energy supplier. The two hot plates were turned on as and when required. A timer was used to automatically turn the ElectricKit Aga Range Cooker on and off, using the times 6am-9am / 4pm-9.30pm.

Their usage of the 2 oven "Original" ElectricKit was:

AUTUMN (3 months), timed operation, 454KW

WINTER (3 months), ovens on 24hrs a day, 708KW

SPRING (3 months), timed operation, 615KW

SUMMER (3 months), manual operation, 287KW

ElectricKit owners have quoted prices of £20p/w with oven running at 180c and on 24/7.
